Nature and Parks

Montenegro national parks: Durmitor, Biogradska gora, Lake Skadar, Lovcen and Prokletije, with what to see and what to check before visiting.

Five parks, five different trips

Montenegro's national parks are not interchangeable. Durmitor is high mountain and glacial lakes, Biogradska gora is old forest, Lake Skadar is water and birds, Lovćen is a ridge above the bay, and Prokletije is the sharpest alpine terrain in the country.

Each article covers access, the best season, what to bring and what the park rules require. Fees and opening times change: check them with the park before travelling.
