Winners of UNESCO’s art contest „My Heritage portrait“

National Commission for UNESCO in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Ministry of Culture organized art contest „My Heritage Portrait” for preschool and elementary schools (for children from 4 to 8 years), on the ocassion of the Forum of Slovenic Cultures from 10-16 May 2012, in the framework of celebrating UNESCO Cultural Diversity Week. More than 80 children drawings and paintings from Montenegrin kindergardens and ASP net schools participated in the competition.

Winners of the competition are: Kovačević Sara (6 years) from kindergarden “Vukosava I. Mašanović” from Bara; Ljubica Kovačević (6 years), Bojana Radnjić (7 years) and Ksenija Koprivica (7 years) from kindergarten „Naša radost” from Herceg Novi; Nađa Đurković (6 years), Batrić Martinović (6,3 years) and Vladimir Perović (6,3. years), Mileusnić Stefan (5,5 years), Dragana Muratović (5 years), Gazivoda Lazar (5,5 years) and Andrea Turčinović (5 years) from kindergarden” „Zagorka Ivanović” from Cetinje.

Members of the selection committee came from the ministries of education and sports, culture, National Commission for UNESCO and UNESCO UN Office in Montenegro.

UNESCO considers that promotion of this exchange of ideas between young people represents key element in creating basis for mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence among world cultures.

The Forum of Slovenic Cultures is being held in the framework of UNESCO’s initiative „Culture, the bridge of development”, in accordance with the „World Heritage in Young Hands” programme. This year forum organizer is permanent delegation of the Russian Federation at UNESCO.

The winning entries will be displayed at the exhibition at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. For all other works there will be a national exhibition organized in Cetinje.
